EMBODIED TESTIMONY:
A program intensive

SICK AND TIRED

(hello inflammation explosions!*)

2024 (TBA)
Sundays 7:00 - 9:00 pm EST

3 months / 6 Virtual Sessions

$1,800*

In this 2023 cohort of Embodied Testimony, we will unearth various aspects of what it means to be SICK AND TIRED. The 2023 program intensive is aimed at engaging with people who live with chronic illness, chronic pain, chronic uncertainty and/or disability and the care workers who support sick and tired people.

If you have experienced periods of what Jessica Lynadoo calls *inflammation explosions* (in all the many forms this takes) then this is the program for you!

Embodied Testimony 2023 will draw on audio/written/visual narratives related to deep questions about sick bodies as the ground for group discussions and personal inquiry.

Program Details

Embodied Testimony will begin in Fall 2023 and we will meet in an intimate group via Zoom for 6 sessions on Sundays from 7-9pm EST.

I will provide journaling prompts/optional readings/practices throughout the month between our meetings. Additionally there will be a lightly moderated Slack channel dedicated to asynchronous sharing with each other throughout and beyond this experience.

Sessions will be recorded but attendance is a significant part of the process. Recordings expire after 30 days.

Cost to participate: $1,800*

$500 for TWO one on one sessions with Asher (optional addition to program fee)

(these 60 minute one-on-one sessions can function to assist in integrating what is coming up for you during the program)

*payment plan: 3 installments of $600/month

This unique program intensive is aimed at facilitating connection with other queer people, providing opportunities to witness the felt experiences and perspectives of other group participants which in turn will help you to experience your own personal struggles or pain points in a different light. At the end of this experience, you will be connected to an enlivening community. You will know much more about how to listen to your body and its narratives.

I offer this program knowing how powerful it can be to have our inner lives truly known and witnessed by others, to heal relationally amongst peers.  I believe in narrative medicine. I believe in the reparative possibilities that can materialize in the context of a stable, safe and emotionally nurturing group setting. It is my hope that this program intensive can serve as a catalyst for deeper insight, confidence about our intuition, increased mindfulness about our personal challenges around embodiment as well as pathways towards a more integrated sense of self.

One of my podcast guests and great teachers, Lindsay Mack, expresses so perfectly the ethos of what it means to say β€œyes” to a program intensive like this one:

We expect students who say yes to this work to be rooted into their personal responsibility and self tending, and can hold themselves in the midst of contraction, discomfort, and personal reflection. Acknowledging and taking ownership of our own needs for support structures is an integral component to sustainably allowing ourselves to be of service.

In taking part in this course, you are acknowledging for yourself that your learning and self tending is ultimately your own privilege and responsibility. That might look like bolstering your own support systems for personal processing if you need more than what the course container provides.
